Bio for Emily Kieson - Western Pleasure Instructor

Horseback riding is unlike any other relationship in the world.  You and your horse must learn to trust and respect one another in order to accomplish a common goal as a team.  At it's core, regardless of the discipline, horseback riding is about a horse and rider coming together as a single being to achieve a given task...and enjoying it!

But mutual respect and proper communication takes time, patience and work.  If you've already have a love of horses, you're off to a good start!

I've been horse back riding for the better part of twenty years.  While some of that included dressage, stadium jumping, and Western pleasure, I chose to focus my attention on fox hunting, cross country, and trails.  I have learned over time that, while techniques may differ between Western and English riding, the foundations of balance and aids are the same.  I focus my lessons on horse-human communication, balance, confidence, trust, and respect.  I teach both Western and English and tailor my lessons to each student and their respective goals.

Since I also work in the film industry in Austin, I've come up with lesson programs specifically tailored to actors looking to add skills to their resume.  Please contact me for more details
